Orange Julius ~ Jaci and Colton

Super easy, super delicious!

1/3-1/4 can OJ - undiluted
1/2 cup milk or plain yogurt
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla
8 ice cubes (Colton and I use 8 whole frozen strawberries instead)

Blend in a blender till smooth! Enjoy with a straw on the patio. (Makes 2-3 glasses) Colton loves to help add the ingredients and push the button on the blender - just don't plug it in till the lid is on! =) draft

No shortening/No-ROLL Pie Crust! ~ Jaci

Okay, so I hate rolling pins and the mess it makes to get the plastic thing out, dust it with flour, try to get the edges to stay flat, rolling things...UGH. So, I tried this and though it wasn't EXACTLY a traditional pie crust, it was very flaky and pretty darn tasty. So...here it is. By they way, I used it for a chicken pot pie and used the leftover for a little strawberry tart - both yummy! This makes enough for a top, a bottom, and a little extra.

1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup ice water
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar (maybe a bit more for a dessert)

Mix together and press into pie pan as evenly as possible. Fill with filling and bake till golden. I did about 30 minutes at 350, but a little less time at 400 might be good if you're pre-baking it (like for a tart).... To make the top crust for the pot pie, I pressed it onto a silicone mat (waxed paper would work too) and then flipped it onto the top of the pie and it seemed to work okay. Enjoy!

Brocolli Caulflower Salad ~From Jaci

This is super easy, and it's best if you make it ahead a bit!
1 head cauliflower, broken into bite-sized pieces
2-3 stalks brocolli, cut into bite-sized pieces
2-3 slices bacon, crispy-fried and crumbled (or about 1/2 cup real bacon bits)

Dressing:

1 cup mayo
2-3 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
Mix all together and pour over brocolli and cauliflower, garnish with bacon!
